The Taiwan authorities said yesterday they had confiscated nearly 18,000 cases of Red Bull energy drinks with traces of cocaine.
The drinks, worth around NT$25 million (S$1.1 million), were part of a shipment that arrived from Austria in April, of which some were available from retailers and department stores, the Agence France-Presse reported.
In Singapore, Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority spokesman Goh Shih Yong said that the Red Bull energy drinks available in the country are imported mainly from Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, but the AVA will be sending samples for testing.

Was checking out some random site and happened to stumble upon its take on singapore culture.
Noticed an interesting portion in the demographics section! It says,
"The Chinese constitute about 78 percent, the Malays 14 percent, the Indians 7 percent, and others 1 percent of the population. The ethnic composition of the population has been relatively stable."
Hmmmmm i wunder what they meant by relatively stable?? jeez did they consider the influx of other migrants?? Not only that, this site was notoriously full of misconstrued or outdated info.
Like for example, it says inter-ethnic marriages were uncommon and that our National Day is on the 31st of August...hmm the author obviously confuses us with our northern neighbour i suppose. Plus, there are like onli 3 photos on the whole page and their all depicting back in the days when we just got our independance!
Perhaps the most controversial statement it has would be this one:
"Chinese are over-represented in professional, technical, administrative, and managerial jobs, whereas Malays are the most underrepresented in highly skilled jobs, with Indians in the middle."

H1N1 ALERT: Singapore confirms another 3 cases of H1N1
Whoa, Yesh another 3 more cases. and they're not linked to the 1st victim, however they had one similarity...they all came back from the states: Chicago, San Francisco and Honolulu. Wow, it had even gone as far as Hawaii huh!! gosh
The second confirmed case is a 43-year-old Singapore Permanent Resident who returned to Singapore from San Francisco via Manila on Tuesday (May 26) at 1750 hours.
She was on Singapore Airlines flight SQ 917 and was seated at 33H. She became unwell while on board.

Green glowing monkeys....is not a cool term to use wen swearing!
Trust the japanese to come up with something like this. Why is it they always have to mutate and modify stuff; Rice, Cows and now monkeys.
They have successfully bred these primates with a gene that make their skin glow green..YESH NEON GREEN!! The gene, which was first extracted from jellyfish, is known as GFP or Green Fluorescent Protein (which is quite a duh name if u ask me!). An animal tagged with GFP glows green, when its skin is exposed under ultraviolet light.
However, much of the anti-sentiments did not come of animal rights activists but rather from those strongly against the use of research to create genetically-tailored humans.
The scientists defence? Well all they were looking for were ways to replicate man's deadliest diseases in this poor primates, so as to better understand and come up with a more compatible cure in the quickest time possible for mankind.

Mi god...1 wk..1 Frickin wk and my cleanroom shoes get stolen...holi crap la. well its not the 1st time aniway. but da other time at least it got returned back to da same rack da very next day but this time its Gone for more than a day!! RAWR haiz....
o well shucks apparently a colleague told me to 'follow the cycle'...and by tt he meant kapo another's shoes...rawr goes against all morality but hey i hate forking out mi pay to compensate for STOLEN shoes...bah!! SERIOUSLY CMI la...

Singapore has got its 1st swine flu case
Yesh looks like we have joined the amazing race, in this case, the H1N1 virus has entered singapore's shores as part of its global expedition...
The patient, a 22-year-old Singaporean woman, had been in New York from May 14 to 24, and arrived here on Tuesday morning. While seated in row 55 on Singapore Airlines flight SQ25, she began to develop a cough, but she passed the thermal scanner at the airport later without being stopped, because she did not have a fever at the time.
Later that morning, she went to a general practitioner who decided to send her to Tan Tock Seng Hospital via the special ambulance service 993 meant for suspected Influenza A (H1N1) cases.
Laboratory test confirmed her infection at midnight on Tuesday. The patient is being treated at the TTH Communicable Disease Centre and is in stable condition.

In his eight-second video footage which was tendered in court, the 'shaky and slightly grainy' footage showed a person who 'appears' to be the Indonesian student sitting on the bridge roof. His right arm and legs were oozing blood, and his shorts and front of his Tee-shirt were blood-soaked.
The video clip showed him looking down, then towards his right. Mr Lin stopped recording after eight seconds as he needed the mobile phone to call the campus security guard. When he was about to end the call, he saw Widjaja jump four floors down.
The filmlet was extracted from Mr Lin's cellphone memory card and given to police after the shocking death fall, which occurred shortly after Widjaja allegedly attacked his final year project supervisor Professor Chan Kap Luk, 45, during what was to have been a discussion on the student's work.
Mr Lin also demonstrated how Widjaja pushed himself off the bridge, using a swivel chair in the coroner's court on Monday morning.
Four other students and laboratory staff also took the witness stand on Monday, giving their accounts of how Widjaja clambered onto the roof of the bridge and pushing himself off.
During a break at Monday's inquiry into the student's death, Widjaja's father and brother told The Straits Times that they do not believe that the man in the video clip was Widjaja.
Asked why, they said the footage was not clear and the body shape of the man did not look like Widjaja's. Mr Hartono, Widjaja, 56, said he intends to engage a forensic specialist to look at the video footage.
The inquiry continues.

haiz jus went thru my course mods for next yr and realised i had to have a fair mix of subjects.. only god knows how well da market works and not onli tt, whether da employers stop being picky bastards!
gosh, but o well like Poh always says "shit happens man"...indeed how tru tt statement can be. Working life mite seem daunting but finding the rite job is even worse than that. Choices, it all boils down to choices.....haiz...sianism!

And once again i come back to you on the latest info into the inquiry of the death of 21-year-old NTU student, David Widjaja.
SINGAPORE: Blood stains and items out of place indicate a possible struggle in Associate Professor Chan Kap Luk's office at the Nanyang Technological University.
These findings were given by the Health Sciences Authority's (EH S, ur gonna be doing ur Attachment in HSA rite!! lol ) consultant forensic scientist, Lim Chin Chin, at the coroner's inquiry on Tuesday into the death of Indonesian student David Hartanto Widjaja.
Miss Lim had conducted a scene reconstruction report and found two trails of blood heading in different directions. The first, which contained Prof Chan's DNA profile, started from the office, turned right at the door and stopped at the lift. The second trail had David Widjaja's DNA profile. It turned left at the door, down two flights of stairs and up the parapet wall to the roof of the NTU link bridge.
The inquiry will continue from mid to late june...will bring you more updates then!! Stay tuned folks, i mean we all know the obvious of what could have very much happened but its kinda interesting to see how they try and debunk the possibilities!!

Staring at the broken off car license plate on my table which i kahpoh-ed from the roadside after it got knocked off from a car in front of my company, it brot back some nostalgic times from some of mi bttr days..
o btw if ur wondering what's da number for 'superstitious' purposes (Yesh tt's wad i call buying lottery!! lol ), don't bother cos i took the liberty to do a little check and found out that the last time number @@@@ (hahaha tot i gonna give u da number ah? WAD IF U TIO?) managed to clinch a 3rd prize was back in 1998 and the rest of the years (and including all possible permuatations) it never got past the starter and consolation prize categories!
....aniways back to the story, i still remember N DEARLY miss mi beloved 40Km/h road sign, which just 'dropped' from the lampost in front of mi hall a year ago..trust me i din't intervene in its 'ripening'! it was dangling on one loose bolt and a sudden gust of wind one rainy day jus blew it off..FINDERS KEEPERS..too bad i dint noe wad to do wif it til the last wk of hall! and now its in da safe custody in Ex-roomie's place!!
going further back into mi dick-weed days of CJC, it was chinese new year eve so had a halfday, me and mi fellow dick-weeds went over to coronation plaza to play lan but it was crowded like hell so we just ate lunch over there. on the way back we were walking past this construction site and it dawned on us how cool it wud be to have a momento in our classrm. SO, we kapoh-ed da reflective lantern (which actualli works if u connect it to a 12V battery, unfortunately it was too heavy to carry that away!) and boy was it heavy. and so the 3 pompous dicks happily walked around in public, boarded a bus and reached sch to put it back in class! but lo n behold wen we reached there, the gates were locked. NEVER ever place contraband under a public bridge. The next mon wen we back to claim our 'Prize' we realised that our stolen treasure had actually been RE-STOLEN!! RAWR...
Ahhhh boys will be boys...haiz too bad those days are nuthing more than a mere ting of the past!!

Apparently the deceased NTU student had 'married' another online gamer and wanted to take their relationship to the next level in real life, but apparently was rejected wif da reason that she had married another online player as well? hmmm dodgy...riteeee
The most interesting development, another witness had apparently taken an 8 sec video of sum1 sitting on the ledge precariously! but as he ended his video to make a call to the police, da alleged person had jumped and experienced an...how can i put it...an inelastic collision with the ground...
Btw, if any1 has gotten a hold of this video, PLS do inform me immediately for cross-examination!
But all in all, here's mi 2 cents worth from this whole saga! i seriously think that those related to the poor guy is making a big hooha for nothing and not comin to terms with the fact that he might actaullly have been troubled indeed. i mean seriously student suicides is defenitely not uncommon in singapore! hell personally i noe of 2 such cases, one of which being my gd fren from JC and other was a super-studious A-grade student who 'took the plunge' cos she woke up late and could not reach school in time..but tt's not the impt fact here!
What i'm trying to say is, instead of putting in all the money into the trials, i'd rather the family get some closure and compile all of their money they were willing to spend (to prove their son was murdered!) into a form of scholarship, which can be used to give out to another needy foreign student who had lost his current funding and title the scholarship in David's name. Why not put all of that money to good use and prevent someone else from commiting such regrettable actions rite??

And although i hate the fact that mi hair is curly, i have no one else to blame but poor genetics on my parents part. haiz but on the bright side, mi hair seems to have a 'memory effect'. i can perk it up or bring it all down without using any gel or wax, which i hardly use. Actuali come to tink of i only use gel on my head during the what i like to call the 'half-fuck' stage of hair growth, its wen ur hair is neither too long nor too short so minute strands pop out in defiance.
Back wen i was yunger, i rem mi solution to that problem. i'd grab mi mum's hairspray and turn mi hair into a plasticy feel. voila!! hahaha buti suppose the amount i used to make the defiant strands heel to my command could have caused a minor hole in the ozone layer above our sunny island....and for that i apologize profusely to my fellow inhabitants!!

For the very 1st time, i walked into the doors of Tampines 1 yestdae wif ahzhong...i must say it did live up to mi expectations. the shops were clearly different from the ones at the nearby malls. like there's carls junior la, Thai express la, Natural project la...blah blah blah..Oh but the disappointing thing was the foodcourt was like super small like DO NOT go there on the wkends cos its realli fricking small. we were lucky to get a seat prob cos it was a monday nite...which brings me to another point! y dun ppl like to go out on mon nites?? dun tell me ur monday was so bleaty awesome u just wanted to back home and sleep with a smile on ur face rite? o well i ges there are 2 sides to that coin and i shan't harp on it lest i be called BIASED.

Oh and after that we were finding out a powerpt so i cud help mi gd fren zhng up his blog and we stumbled across this place called Tea dot. I couldn't find much stuff about it online so i'm guessing its prob a local venture. It did have a wide selection of...you guessed it..tea!! lol DUH...i forgot wad ah zhong had sumthing green-y hahaha ..and i had this lavender fused tea tingy, which i was clearly instructed to stir b4 drinking, called violet dreams! it was pretty light and refreshing, a brillant choice to perk you up on a monday nite!! .........

Recently a malaysian company has decided to provide instant hot cans of coffee to muslims all around the globe, amongst other halal products of course...ahaha hmmm but it did get me interested not the fact about halal coffee but hey SELF-HEATING CANS..

Imagine buying a Sony Vaio at a low price...how low do u tink?? 1000? 800? 500? well apparently some ppl over at mi workplace got this lobang where they can get a sony 14" lappie for onli 350...I SHIT U NOT...350 lei?! OMFG.....its got all the tell tale signs of a possible scam but some idiot believed and paid upfront for 10 sets.
HOlo cholo man...i mean les do a breakdown the OS licence fees and the ram plus the dedicated graphics card itself comes up to da cheapest abt 300 bux, so unless the laptop is made out of cheap china plastic i dun see how the guy can sell it soooo low?!

There is a particular song played on a piano which i just heard on sum1's ringtone which is like soooo mi fave song back in JC daes...i have no idea wad the title is all i know only the few ppl who've played it before. As of this day, i have less than 3 wks to the end of mi lil attachment stint...and although i luv mi work da fact that ev1 keeps reminding that its ending soon it does seem to scratch in my head tt hey soon i dun have a reason to wake up at 6 in the mng no more!! lol
and i do believe it is the rite time to do some reflection on the past 5 mths...WHOALLY crap has it been 5 mths...shhit wud u look at tt there goes close to half the yr thk u very much!! hmmm well i realli am thkful for this lil preview of wad mi next 50 yrs are gonna be like. pretty much here are some of my observations or lessons learnt if u will:
1)Bkfast is usually taken from 8-9 and is always accompanied by a Hot beverage, in mi case Teh.
2)Always start ur com first ting in the mng, its like taking silent attendance so ev1 noes ur in but just not at ur desk
3)Never put up an O$P$ poster on ur table unless HR hasn't paid ur salary
4)ALSO never put up a license plate of an accident vehicle cos ev1 will crowd at ur place to get 4D number.
5)MOST IMPT keyboard keys u need to know: Alt-TAB....ITS A LIFESAVER...of cos considering u can switch to ur email window fast enuff la lol
6)It is crucial to bring in ur lappie for a meeting becos wen its not ur turn to shine or if things get too boring, at least u've a temp escape
7)Do not take leave or Offs on days when ur colleagues are on lve i.e usually later in the wk....enjoy the quiet time when ev1 is not arnd and go on lve wen ev1's sloggin in their cubicles...Lesss stress, Less arrows!
8)when you complete something momentous...remember to send an email after that to 'patent' that brilliant idea!
9)When you feel like 'letting loose' on a fri or sat nite...do remember to always book a place cos not only ur company ends its work week on a fri!
10)No matter how busy u are, NEVER buy coffee from ur office vending machine but even if do make sure U finish it before it gets COLD!! uck....Its not the same as Kopi peng mind u!

holi crap, hmmm i've seen a couple of email scams in mi lifetime but this one whoa...it was ranked up by US secret service!! haha...apparently this is an advance fee scam where they get you to open up n deposit a certain amount before they can transfer you the rest of the cash!! wad amazes me is how ppl can actually believe such a thing as though it were a scene rite outa the movies..
and even if the guy came up to me in person with such a story word for word from his email, i still wouldn't do a thing he says...lemme share the email wif you and look for out for mi commentary in bold..LOL!!

Whoa had one hellava mng todae!! parents went out and the main water tap n connecting pipe had to be changed, so i tot ah how bad cud it be huh? muahah oh it was HARD alrite!! lol plus since i was doin it alone i had to run all the way outa mi house to turn on/off the main valve from PUB..and boy did i run cos even wen i turned it a lil, the water started spewing out or rather spraying out!
lol and after 4 unsuccessful attempts, which included me having to clean up all da water which amazingly flew everywhere but da god damn pail i put underneath it, i managed to figure the main issue was the connecting pipe i fit was still a lil loose. apparently, i had to screw it on all the way but sumhow it kept comin back loose. so i tried a lil white tape, which i have no idea wad the technical term for it is and tightened the nut til da last thread and voila, i found another service i could provide on the sidelines to earn xtra cash!! whoo hoo but seriously if u need me to do some basic plumbing, expect a fee which is equivalent to the work done!WHICH MITE BE A LOT..HAH
And during tt whole 2 hours (Yesh it took me 2 hrs to fix up a tap!), i cudn't help but imagine a day in the house w/out water..i mean it was like so impt!!! imean other than the obvious drinking for sustainance part: u can't pee, take a shit, bathe, wash ur clothes, etc etc.....
Whoa had one hellava mng todae!! parents went out and the main water tap n connecting pipe had to be changed, so i tot ah how bad cud it be huh? muahah oh it was HARD alrite!! lol plus since i was doin it alone i had to run all the way outa mi house to turn on/off the main valve from PUB..and boy did i run cos even wen i turned it a lil, the water started spewing out or rather spraying out!
